Nursing Management Department

Nursing Management Department is among the three departments in the School of Nursing. The other two departments are clinical nursing and Community Health Nursing. There are 4 academic staff in the Department, the Head of the Department –Dr. Thecla W. Kohi – Senior Lecturer; Dr. Edith A. M. Tarimo who is the current dean of the school of Nursing – Senior lecturer; RashidHeri – Assistant Lecturer; and Baraka Morris Malaki – Assistant Lecturer.

TEACHING AND LEARNING
•    The Department courses are taught across the School of Nursing while basic sciences are taught in the School of Medicine and the School of Public Health and Social Sciences.

RESEARCH
Ongoing research studies are on HIV and AIDS, Humanizing Birth Care, Quality of Life of children and adolescents.


PUBLICATIONS
•    There are more than 20 publications

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND OUTREACH ACTIVITIES:
•    Provision of technical support to the Nursing Four Pillars (The Quard) which comprises of The Directorate of Nursing and Midwifery Services, Tanzania National Nurses Association, Nursing Training Section of the MoHCDGEC and The Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council.
•    The Department in collaboration with other Departments in the School carries out social events such as celebrating PhD achievements, New year celebrations etc.
